Possible ‘cello instructor?
Ohhhh! A maybe possible lead on an instructor came into my email box this morning… S/He lives in Mosier, and, as you can tell from my lack of gender knowledge, I know nothing more than the person lives in Mosier, teaches and plays ‘cello!
I forwarded all my information to one of their associates, Greg. So. HOPE with me!!

Update: Well, this one didn’t work out. The person he was referring to was my first instructor. He did a good job as a starting place, but he plays violin. Violinists, I discovered, don’t teach ‘cello very well. I had to unlearn
most of what he taught me. It was a great possibility and I was decidedly looking forward to it, but it’s for naught.
So, what do I really want? What am I looking for in an instructor? I’ve had plenty of time to think about that. First, I’m looking for someone who plays the ‘cello him/herself. Second, I don’t want to learn the “Suzuki Method.” It’s a method, but it’s not heart. It’s sort of like learning to drive on those simulators - it just can’t compare to real driving. There’s similarities, it’s just not …*real.* Third, I’d like someone who doesn’t mind also teaching my niece when she comes up for visits. The last main point I’m looking for is a good personality match. Maybe that’s just unreasonable. After all, had that been a point for any of Beethoven’s students, he wouldn’t have been able to teach them!
The rest of the stuff I’m interested in is really about location and hours - I already drive SO much, I don’t want to add to the driving during the week. I want to fit my lesson into my current drive schedule along my route to work in Vancouver.
